On September 23rd, folk-rock musician Dan Bern will be performing at Montreal’s Turbo Haüs, kicking off a series of concerts presented by Billy Bob Productions, the independent promotions company co-run by Mitch Melnick.

For more than two decades, the prolific Iowa-born artist has explored the many avenues and alleyways of Americana, blending satire and sincerity to craft resonant music. Having released over twenty full-length albums and EPs since the mid-90s, Bern has also contributed music to films like Walk Hard and Get Him to the Greek, highlighting his knack for writing irreverent, ridiculous songs that also happen to be thoughtfully crafted.

Bern has been compared to artists like Bob Dylan, Woodie Guthrie and Elvis Costello, but his compelling and idiosyncratic music stands on its own, arguably best appreciated through his engaging live performances.
