EXTRA! EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT! YUK YUK’S is back!

The rumours are true folks and here’s the official press release!

YUK YUK’S, Canada’s national comedy club chain will open its 15th club location with a sneak preview the week of July 20th, featuring programming by Just for Laughs entitled “Best of the Fest.”
The club, located at 1222 Mackay St at the rear of the Allure nightclub, will have 120 seats and “an intimate feel where the audience can feel the comedians sweat,” said Mark Breslin, Founder and C.E.O. of the chain. “It will have a similar atmosphere to the new, hip New York City comedy clubs like The Stand and Comedy Cellar; a real intimacy that comedy fans will really enjoy.”
The franchise will be operated by David Nankoff, who has a long history of producing comedy shows in Montreal, and Silvo Frank, proprietor of Allure nightclub.
After the club’s sneak preview during Just for Laughs, the club will close for the month of August, and have its grand opening in September 2014 with a well-known comedy legend, to be announced during the festival.
“We’re thrilled to be in this accessible downtown location with lots of parking and amenities, and honoured to be part of Just for Laughs programming, “said Nankoff.
So yep, you heard it right here folks! I’m looking forward to seeing what this place looks like and if it will it stand the test of time?
