From Dec. 14th-January 5th, Old Montreal will be celebrating this years holidays in a dramatically different way. This holiday season Old Montreal presents a brand new festival known as “Montreal en Fetes” ( A.K.A Merry Montreal Festival). Essentially this is a month-long winter celebration that invites Montreal-ers of all ages to get outside and make the most of their holiday season, with an incredible program that offers something that is appealing for everyone. The Festival will be taking place at Vieux-Montréal and Place Jacques–Cartier located in one of Old Montreal’s most architectural and historic neighbourhoods ever! Organizers have put together a string of amazing activities and events, that are certain to spread tons holiday cheer and momentum. For the next four weekends, wear your warmest attire and make your way to Old Montreal to join the festivities. “Montreal en Fetes” is now presently in motion, so I encourage you to do some further research on their website and make some time in your holiday schedule.
I am personally very excited to check this new festival out for the very first time, it made it’s debut last Saturday and there are still three more weekends coming up until the amazing New Years Eve Party that this festival will be holding, which is exciting stuff! I’ve personally never been a huge fan of winter mainly due to the chill factor and extra layers, but I’m excited to know that cool things are still taking place in Montreal despite below zero temperatures.
Come and live magical moments as you embark on an unforgettable winter journey, through the illuminated streets of the oldest neighborhoods in North America. Make the memories that will last you a lifetime as you discover or rediscover the various activities and sights that this amazing Festival offers. The historic character and quality restaurants, unique shops, and timeless hotels are not something to be overlooked.
