The Women of Saturn by Connie Guzzo-McParland

With live music by Bad Selfies

Deck out in your 80s finest! Join awarded writer Connie Guzzo-McParland (The Girls of Piazza d’Amore, 2013) with live music by Bad Selfies, dynamic book readings, dancing and 1980s fashions with guest, playwright Michaela Di Cesare.

With its Calabrian flavour, The Women of Saturn is gripping, multilayered, and as satisfying as southern Italian food. Set in 1980 in a high school in gritty Park Extension, it chronicles the lives of three women of different generations connected and haunted by the same Italian village of their past. Experience Montreal in flashbacks through the decades, including Expo 67 and local personalities, along with being transported to Italy of the 50s. The main character is the school’s ‘Beauty Care’ teacher-  the book even contains 3 hairdressing lessons!
