Alegria: The Return of an Icon
Just released today, Cirque du Soleil will be opening their vault by bringing back Algeria. Alegria premiered on April 21, 1994, and toured for 15 years. Alegria’s last show was on April 5, 2009. This year we celebrate 25 years with Cirque du Soleil, so bringing back this iconic show is fabulous news. What a new beginning for this Classic show under the big top. Alegria will premiere in Montreal’s Old Port on April 18, 2019.
Cirques du Soleil Entertainment Group just recently reorganized there “Creation & Production” teams to be better aligned with the entertainment industry. The group’s management has selected Diane Quinn as Chief Creative Officer, along with Daniel Fortin former creative director at 45 Degrees. Yasmine Khalil will be the Chief Executive Producer, with over 20 years and directing over 1,500 events and specials, this is sure to be a big hit.

Diane oversees the artistic and creative interests of its subsidiaries, namely VStar Entertainment Group, Cirque Dreams, Blue Man Group, and The Works Entertainment. She also oversees the quality of all Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group shows currently in operation. I asked her how she liked working for Cirque du Soleil? When speaking with Diane Quinn today, Her reply to me was “This isn’t a job for me. I am doing something I love, it is with pleasure I do this”. Now I want a job like this my self.
Cirque du Soleil has received many Fan & Employee requests to bring Alegria back. So here’s your chance the return of an Icon is back.
