Montreal, QC – Following her recent UK comedy tour, award-winning one-eyed comedian Stéphanie Morin-Robert returns to Montreal with a new delicious eye-popping comedy EYE CANDY and the critically-acclaimed BLINDSIDE, running June 8th – June 16th at the Theatre La Chapelle.

EYE CANDY is an all-true comedy about Morin-Robert’s pregnancy and epic 56-hour labour into motherhood, performed while holding her real-life baby on stage. What could possibly go wrong? Mama Morin-Robert has a unique point of view. At the age of two, she was diagnosed with retinoblastoma and shortly after the diagnosis, she had her left eye removed to save her life. Now wearing a left glasseye, she has since transformed this childhood cancer into comedy gold. However, since retinoblastoma is genetic, Morin-Robert knew there was a risk that she might not only carry the gene but also pass it on to her child.

“Not knowing if our baby would be born with Retinoblastoma or not was terrifying, but starting a family was just so important to us. We decided to get pregnant regardless and embrace whatever would come of it. EYE CANDY is about making that choice and the powerful journey it took us on.” – Stéphanie Morin-Robert

BLINDSIDE has deep roots in Montreal as Stéphanie first began creating and workshopping the story when she worked for the Montreal Fringe, before developing it into a full show in the following years. BLINDSIDE is Stéphanie’s personal account of navigating childhood with a glass eye, the bullies and friends that shaped her experiences, and how the feat of overcoming and embracing disadvantage has made her the woman she is today. Integrating live video projection, contemporary dance and riveting comedic storytelling, Stéphanie recounts her life as a feisty 7-year-old who wields her glass eye as a superpower in a daring and honest performance which has touched and inspired audiences internationally.

FUNNY, VULNERABLE, AND SWEET.  PHENOMENAL AND NOT TO BE MISSED!
