Igloofest does it again with a fabulous electronic event
Igloofest does it again with their edition of this Funky Electronic music Festival. What can we say nothing will stop us from Dancing in Montreal. The annual Igloofest festival heats up Montreal’s Old Port from January 17th to February 2nd., never letting us down with an epic winter event.
If you haven’t heard of the Igloofest it is a 9-night outdoor electronic music festival, which takes place at the Old Port of Montreal in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is co-produced by Piknic Electronik and located at in the Quays of the Old Port. Igloofest began in January 2007 and now draws dance crowds in the tens of thousands to Montreal each year.
This year was their 13th Edition of the festival and it was a cold beast, but that didn’t stop the fun or the beats from dropping at this fantastic festival. Mobtreal was super excited to cover this event for the second year in a row. Sadly on the first night covering our camera equipment couldn’t take the cold as much as we could, with mother nature making a freezing appearance of -25C on January 19th, not many pictures were taken in order to protect Mobster Daren Zomerman’s photography gear.
Knowing that we didn’t get to complete our mission on our first visit, Mobtreal’s City-Boss Belinda reached out to her contact at the festival and they were nice enough to give them another pair of tickets for January 26th, this event was hosted by Sapporo Canada in collaboration with Vidéotron and Solotech. It was Igloo #6 which also meant it was TECHNO night & all these stars were in attendance!
On the ???? Sapporo Stage we had:
Chris Liebing [DE]
Mind Against [IT]
Debbie Døe [QC]
VJs: GRIDSPACE, Baya
This time we were lucky enough 1. to score VIP guest tickets with Videotron, we were so excited, as this meant we could have access to the heated bathroom (huge bonus at this festival), VIP dance area & stages, entrance to the warm-up booth with charging stations, sofas and lots of speakers to still embrace the music while gathering some heat. 2. This gave us enough time to play some of the games they had all around the area like volley pong, go on the big ice slide, try to win some Igloo Swag. The atmosphere was fantastic, with Electronic music in full effect, lasers beams and colors were plenty!
So many people braved the cold to dance their hearts out in support this electronic music festival. The size of the Igloo festival every year just keeps getting bigger and better. To all the staff & sponsors that withstand the cold for our safety, the Yeti Guys, the VJs & Djs, to all musicians that make this event possible, we give you all big KUDOS to another fabulous smoking winter event. We are looking forward to the 2020 Igloofest!!!
