Liev Schreiber in Montreal November 20th
Federation CJA Announces Star of Spotlight and X-Men as Headliner for Closing of 100th Campaign Celebration
Heralded as “the finest American theater actor of his generation” by the New York Times, Golden Globe, Tony and Emmy nominee Liev Schreiber will be headlining the official closing event of Federation CJA’s 100th Combined Jewish Appeal campaign on November 20th, 2017 at the Palais de Congrès. The event will be moderated by CTV Montreal anchor, Tarah Schwartz.
Schreiber’s repertoire of resonant, humanistic and oftentimes gritty portrayals have garnered him praise in film, theatre and television. Having most recently starred in Showtime’s critically-acclaimed hit series, Ray Donovan, Schreiber’s impressive list of credits has garnered him a reputation as an incredibly gifted and in-demand artist. Amongst those credits, his passion for his Jewish heritage is evident, having starred in the Holocaust film, Defiance, about the Bielski Partisans, as well as directing and writing the screenplay for the stunning, Everything is Illuminated, also Holocaust themed. The film, starring Elijah Wood and Eugene Hutz, was named one of the year’s 10 Best by the National Board of Review.
As the final closing event for Federation CJA’s 100th Combined Jewish Appeal campaign, this event will highlight the incredible contributions of community members, including General Campaign Chair, Jimmy Alexander and Federation CJA Centennial Co-Chairs, Gail Adelson-Marcovitz and Jack Hasen.
