Raise The Rhythm 2014 presents: Utopia
This October 1st Raise The Rhythm warmly invites you to join them in a unique event. Their aim is to put together a collaborative effort of various up-and-coming designers, dance companies and performers to raise funds and awareness for the “Panov Program,” a newly established charity in support of Precision Chemotherapy at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Featured that night will be the Juno nominated musician Vita Chambers. Some of the highlighted feats of this night will include appearances from Lil JaXe, POV Dance Project, TFL Couture, Flights of Fancy and many others. For more information about this you can view the whole scope of talent on their website here.
The three stages that are being featured include “Terra Firma highlights the world in the present day – a day in the life before cancer,” ” Apocalypse highlights a world in destruction – the day cancer enters a life,” as well as “Utopia highlights a world that is perfect – a life, a world without cancer.”
RTR is dedicated to showcasing high quality and diverse entertainment and this is a lovely way to bring those of us who share in the loss of a loved one to the tragedy of cancer closer together; and to work towards the goal of cancer eradication on our planet. This is a show that you don’t want to miss.
Utopia will take place at the Danforth Music Hall [located on 147 Danforth Ave.] at 8:00. Originally constructed as a movie theater in 1919, the building was first known as the Allen’s Danforth, after its owner the Allen Theatre Chain. The theatre gained the Music Hall name when it started featuring live acts in the late 1970s. It was renamed “The Danforth Music Hall” in 2011 when Impresario Inc. took over ownership of it. After it’s remodeling and renovations, the DMH now serves as a major attraction for concerts featuring International and local artists.
