Carine au Micro’s Debut EP Release
Press Release
Singer Carine au Micro is launching her debut EP O La Si with a show on Wednesday, February 21st at O Patro Vys. Having lived in Benin, France, and Montréal has allowed her to broaden her musical knowledge and blend genres – precisely Jazz, Hip-Hop, Gospel as well as African music. Carine au Micro has slowly been making a name for herself in the Montreal music scene by playing in concerts and festivals such as Vision Diversité and gaining the audience’s interest.
Speaking about the inspiration behind her project, Carine states:
“I want my project to be a conversation between me, a woman from Benin, and Canada. The project’s message is that no matter where we are from, which language we speak, whatever religion we practice, we are all people who share the same emotions. Especially right now, when people seem to be more focused on their differences rather than their similarities. I would also like to change the public opinion on the genre we call World Music; music is a universal language and the soul of humanity.”
The launching event will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and the entry is free. You can follow the event on Facebook and find more information about the venue here.
