Back for its FOURTEENTH year, it’s Montréal Sketchfest! From May 2nd to 11th, over 50 sketch comedy troupes from across the continent will convene for the most exciting festival in town. 10 days of funny times and good vibes featuring local favourite babies such as Employees of the Year, HOT RAW FIRE, Solid Bronze, and Inside Scoop, as well as Edmonton’s darlings Marv n’ Berry, NYC’s wild child Amanda Xeller, and Toronto’s spoiled rotten (with jokes!) kids Templeton Philharmonic and Jon Blair.

Montreal Sketchfest 2019 will host a few special shows in addition to the usual roster of sketch comedy gold:

The Sketchersons x Montreal Sketchfest – Saturday May 4th, 10PM at Theatre Sainte-Catherine A multiple Canadian Comedy Award-nominated and winning troupe featuring some of the best upcoming comedic talent in Toronto, The Sketchersons write and perform the weekly show Sunday Night Live at Toronto’s Comedy Bar – which they will be bringing to Montreal for the first time EVER! This very special edition of the show will incorporate our own local talent, as well as have the one and only TRANNA WINTOUR as guest host and the fabulous AWWFUL as musical guest!

The Sketch Republic: Comedy Key Party – Thursday, May 9th, 10 pm at Montreal Improv Theatre Five comedy couples are invited to switch partners for one night only. The audience will be treated to 10 minutes of new sketch from 5 new duos! Jacob Greco & Lise Vigneault host a seductive soirée of comedy mix and match. The vibe is sensual, the comedy is provocative, and the drinks are flowing – anything can happen!

Ladyfest x Montreal Sketchfest – Friday, May 10th, 8 pm at Theatre Sainte-Catherine A celebration of dynamic femme and non-binary talent, Ladyfest is proud to host a slew of hilarious top-notch sketch comedians and storytellers. This evening will feature megafunnies Ricky, Pegasus, and Alo Azimov, and will bring Tita Collective to Montreal for the first time ever! Recent winners of Toronto SketchFest 2019’s Steamwhistle Producer’s Pick, The Tita Collective is an all Filipina group of playwrights, comedians, musicians, dancers, theatre-makers and actors telling their story – the narrative of the Filipinx diaspora – to the world.

We’ve got over 20 shows and workshops and parties split between cherished comedy hotspots Theatre Sainte Catherine Café-Bar and Montreal Improv! OH WOW!
