Centaur Theatre presents the 19th Annual Wildside Theatre Festival January 7-17.
The Wildside Festival urges you to get out of the house, brave the cold, and take in some eclectic and exciting live performances. From Fringe festival highlights to special invited guests, Wildside is a full course menu for theatre foodies with a taste for variety.
You couldn’t get more Fring-ey than “Happiness TM”, an interactive product launch that’s more than meets the eye. Happiness™ is an explosive self-help seminar for anyone who’s ever wanted it all (and is willing to pay for it). Experience an HPL™ product launch including interactive displays, a bar and one hell of a party as the company’s spokespeople, James Lemon and Peter Barrell, struggle with their own relentless pursuit of happiness in this 60 minute show from Ottawa that hass already won plenty of awards and praise. For those who like their comedy a little darker, “Miss Katelyn’s Grade Threes Prepare for the Inevitable” takes you to school, where Miss Katelyn loves each and every student that walks into her grade three classroom. She also knows the world can be a dangerous and unpredictable place. A well-intentioned school drill is about to go wrong.

If you’re looking for some history, “In Search of Mrs. Pirandello” explores Luigi Pirandello’s little discussed wife. A woman who went insane (…) , Montreal company Marybeth Productions delves deeper into her story that was a massive hit at last years Fringe Festival.
There’s plenty to see at the festival, including musicals (Captain Aurora: A Superhero Musical) and dance (Co. Venture).
