Montreal LGBT Film Festival, Image+Nation, kicks off its 27th edition

Did you know that Montreal is host to an LGBT Film Festival? I just found this out recently myself. Albeit, I’ve only been living here for just over 4 years now; it is still common place for me to discover new dope things about this city, including its many many festivals.

Image+Nation is actually kicking off its 27th edition this evening. Its opening film is a Brazilian flick titled “The Way He Looks” (“Hoje eu Quero Voltar Sozinho”). The festival is running a full 10 days, concluding a screening of Canada’s very own “Guilda: elle est bien dans ma peau” on November 30th.

Sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me. They’ll be showing a total of 80 films, both short and feature length from a variety of origins.

This year they even have a special “Festival Focus” titled “New Latin Voices”, where they’ll be screening heaps of Latin America’s finest LGBT films.

Stay tuned as I’ll be covering as many screenings as I can fit in between study sessions over the next week and a half!

And, make sure you check out the festival’s website to get the low down on all the screenings you’d like to attend yourselves! http://tickets.image-nation.org/en
