WISTA presents: “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying”
Work. Whether you love doing it, or you resent the fact that sometimes the movie “Ground Hog Day” is an accurate depiction of your every day life, working is something that we all have to partake in eventually. After all, who doesn’t want to be an active contributor to society right? Right?
Well… here’s the thing, if we want to have even a small chance at surviving in this unpredictable world we live in, we have to bite the bullet and get our cash flow ‘cash flowing. To sustain our homes and families, and to give us some comfort in our external surroundings and help us feel more secure, but consider this; can you imagine how much more time you would have for yourself if you were privy to knowledge that actually enabled you to bypass all the tough stuff at work, but still be viewed as a high achiever, and hard working co-worker by your peers? That would be pretty great wouldn’t it.
The good news is, you can make this a reality when you come and see WISTA‘s 5th full-length musical production taking place at Theater Steve Murphy Theater located in Pierrefonds Comprehensive High School (13800 Boul Pierrefonds) This unique production is a “satire of big business and all that it holds sacred.”
“HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING” (directed by Rebecca Hallquist and produced by Craig Berger and Claude Despatie) is based on an handbook also entitled “How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying”. The show follows the rise of main character J Pierrepont Finch, who uses the handbook in an attempt to gain social status and climb the corporate ladder into what he hopes will be an executive position in exchange for his lousy dish washing job. After all, everybody secretly wants a little power right? As we watch J Pierrepont Finch’s journey unfold on stage, we can expect to see him overcome obstacles such as the aggressively compliant “company man”the office party, backstabbing co-workers, caffeine addiction, and of course, true love.
This musical is bound to be a hit! You’ll be re-telling the story to your family for sure. The show runs from January 31st to February 8th. Check out the official event page on Facebook. Tickets cost $28 regular price and Students/ Seniors get in for $22. To purchase tickets now call the box office at (514) 998-7229 or reserve online.
